DESCRIPTION

Southaven Chamber of Commerce President Debbie King shared a legislative update following the Chamber’s first Community and Government Relations Legislative Meet and Greet.

The event took place on December 4 at the Agri-Education Center. There was no formal agenda. The goal was simple. Create real conversation between elected officials and the Southaven business community.

About 45 people attended, including:
•Local elected officials
•Southaven Chamber Board of Directors
•Business leaders
•Southaven Young Professionals officers
•Chamber Ambassadors

This breakfast created space for open dialogue about the challenges and needs facing local businesses across DeSoto County.

The Chamber’s long-term goal is to grow this event and use it as a platform that helps unify municipalities and give business owners a stronger voice with legislators in Jackson.

The Southaven Chamber also announced an upcoming poll for local business leaders. It will take about five minutes to complete. Your responses will help identify key concerns related to Mississippi state law and federal law. These insights will be shared directly with elected officials so issues can be addressed collectively.

If you own a business in Southaven or DeSoto County, your input matters. This is how local concerns reach the people writing the laws.
